Navy commander: Makran, most strategic water border

TEHRAN, June 16 (MNA) – Iran’s Army Navy commander has said Makran is the most important water border of the country.

Gen. Habibollah Sayyari who was speaking in a press conference today morning told reporters that Makran coastal waters were the golden gate for Iran and the most important water border. “These water borders would be platform for directly connecting to the Antarctica,” said Sayyari, “it is necessary to develop dominance in waters to protect national interest, and now we have such capability,” he asserted.

Sayyari rejected some reports of the lack of security in Makran coasts as ‘mere psychological war.’ “Army’s presence adds to the security of the waters. CM convoy, which has departed Dar el-Salam, Tanzania, would take 24 0r 48 hours to receive the future routes and destination,” said the army Navy commander.
